    Error Code PO683 or P0683

    Tryin to get my truck smogged and it failed do to this error code. Thought it was because I removed the AIH module but it was not. When I use my code reader it says "Code P0683 Glow Plug Control".
    Anyone know how to fix it. Kinda behind the 8ball here. I did a search and found this issue posted a while back. I'm thinking to check the GPCM and possibly replace it. My problem is that I have no idea where it is and how to replace it. Do you all have any tips or other suggestions that may help? Also, would love to see a pic of where the GPCM is, if anyone has one.
    Really kinda hoping this is a common issue with an easy fix as I am not able to crawl around this motor for extended periods of time anymore.

    The GPCM is the finned aluminum module located above the passanger side valve cover between the oil fill and turbo. If your in the Rancho Santa Margarita area I have a spare you can test out.

    Thanks for the response. I actually just found a picture of the part from a parts store catalog and then opened the hood and saw it sittin right there on top starring at me. I appreciate the offer to test it out but I already ordered the part so hopefully that will fix the problem, knock, knock, knock. Cross your fingers for me. My next option is letting ford have its way with me :bigshock: .

    All good now. New GPCM and no more codes. Passing smog cert. in hand.

    2002 x...I am getting the same code and going to replace the GPCM. Can I ask where you got yours and what you paid for it? Thanks
