I'm noticing slack in the drive train.Dose anyone have any ideas where I should check first. I had the south bend clutch installed 6000 miles ago 125,000 miles on the truck..There is no vibration u joints are all tight. Truck dose have positraction. Very seldom use 4x4 maybe 300 miles of the 125,000..The clutch is working fine a little more chatter on take off then I like can anything be done about the chatter.. Would appreciate any input.. Trying to figure out what you mean by "slack". Can you give more info on what the truck does. IE. Does it only do it when you start. Does it do it in all gears.

Are you equating slack with chatter??
If chatter is the problem, it is most probably the clutch...clutch face has gotten glazed or worn unevenly, or broken springs in the clutch plate. Or you could have loose or broken engine mounts.
(I had an older gas Ford and the clutch would chatter...really badly in reverse. Numerous trips to the transmission shop and they never were able to cure it.)
