I noticed the other day when I got to work that she was leaking oil. It was not just a drop or two. My wifes uncle said that he read its a common leak ( he also has a 7.3) but alot of people try and tell you its the rear main seal. Any thoughts? Karl

Every one of my Superduty's or Excursion, 6.0's & 7.3's I've had all had a small leak from the rear main seal, Some leaked more than others. Even my 2009 had it at 4k miles, Then it had a bedplate leak (thats another story).

Could we get some more info on the leak? Is there oil in the valley of the engine? Front of engine? The only major oil leak I had was when an o ring blew off one of the plugs on my HPOP.

I was just recommending our group to a co worker the other day. I'm pretty sure he joined. I think I found the leak. It is where the dipstick meets the pan. Anyone have a write up on this? Tips, tricks, things to watch out for ect? Thanks
