    Question about Temps

Hi. I installed my Edge CTS and just returned from a long drive down the Baja highway (no towing). I made some notes and I'm curious about your opinions. My max oil temp was 217. During normal cruising at 70-75mph I was seeing ECT of 206 and EOT of 217. There was normally a variation of 10-15 degrees in ECT and EOT. The outside temp was usually about 100 and if you've driven down Baja you know it is a lot of mountain driving and long straightaways. How accurate would you say the sensors are? If it says 207 is there a + or - of two or three degrees or is it spot on? Overall, would you say my cooling, oil, and EGR systems are okay? Engine is stock with coolant filtration kit and 49,000 miles. Generally speaking, what would an ideal temp for ECT and EGT be while traveling at a steady 70mph on a hot day? Thanks.

The numbers look just like what I would get on my '06 when I would monitor with SuperChips.
'97 Dodge 3500, Club Cab, 4x4, Dually, 5.9 Cummins 12V, SMOG EXEMPT, 4" turbo back, gauges, EGR Delete. Built Auto with billet twin disk converter, TransGo shift kit, HF clutches, HD Sprag, PML Pan, AFE stage 1, 100 fuel plate, AFC full forward. 3000 GSK.

Yes, my last truck was an '06 Superduty, liked it, just too much money to own, SMOG, register, build, and maintain.

Towing Queen for: '09 Attitude 33AKSG Fithwheel Toyhauler, FX package, all options and then some, axle oversprung conversion for 5" lift, 15K GVWR

Those temps are good, particularly on a 100°F day. Your differential temp is a little on the high side, which I would expect on a truck with some miles, but they are within a range considered normal.
