2200 Mile Trip Recap- 11,000 Miles on Truck

I just returned from a 2200 mile trip pulling my 13000lb 5th wheel trailer from SoCal across I-40 thru Arizona and New Mexico to the High Plains of Dalhart Texas. I traveled at speeds between 65 and 75MPH both uphill and downhill in temperatures up to 115 deg thru Needles CA, and only heard the engine fan engage twice during the whole trip.

With the raw power that this truck has, and the ease in which it pulled my trailer it was very easy to travel these speeds averaging my fuel mileage at 9.7 MPG for the trip. The truck never wimpered a bit throttling up grades and passing vehicles at will.

One of the best things I did to this truck, was to install a set of Firestone Air Bags which completely stopped the driveline shudder when taking off due to the angle when loaded.

Other than that the only issue I did have was the mirror extender motor stopped working, I think is a blown fuse but haven't checked yet.

I just completed a 5600 mile trip, Tulsa, OK--Casper--Jackson--Twin Falls--Bend--Mt.Shasta--Modesto--Yucca Valley--Las Vegas--Ft Collins, Co-->Tulsa. 5000 pulling 11Klb 5th wheel. Over all avg mpg 12.3. I drive between 60-65 using cruise control when ever possible. Did the climb to Eisenhower Tunnel at 60mph, which is the speed limit!
