Now I Have Two "No Start" 6.0's in my Driveway Help Help

I previously posted a blog in which I wrote about my "no start" issue on my 05 Powerstroke. After some tedious troubleshooting, I was able to get a buddies 06 Powerstroke and use his running vehicle as a troubleshooting vehicle. I swapped out his ICP sensor and installed on my truck and still "no start." I then swapped out his FICM and tried it on my truck and still a "no start." When I reinstalled the ICP and FICM back into my buddies 06 Powerstroke, now his truck isn't starting. It cranks and cranks but no start. Fuses are good. Batteries are good. Are FICM's interchangeable? I did disconnect my negative terminals on my batteries before I attempted to install and uninstall both FICM's. Could it be possible both FICM's aren't compatible? I purchased my 05 new and off the lot. My buddy bought his 06 used. I have the reflash I'm pretty sure because when I bought my truck I received a notice to take my truck back in for a reflash and new limit for the degass bottle. Any help opinion would be appreciated. Thank you.

Did you scan for any codes before you swapped the parts, There are 2 diff FICM's but 05 & 06 should be same. I would say scan for codes and see what comes up depending on mileage it may be the HPOP or a cracked fitting on the HPOP if it has the old style "Football T" on it.

We did scan my buddies truck and no codes. It was running fine up the time yesterday when I parked it next to mine. I checked the warranty status on my buddies '06 Powerstroke and it appears he's still under warranty with the $100 deductable. I guess I'll have it towed to the dealer and hopefully the warranty will cover whatever we did to it. The FICM and sensors as well as the HPOP should be covered under Ford's diesel warranty of 5 yrs/100,000 mile warranty I'm assuming. The truck only has 90,745 miles on it. I also forgot to mention in my post that the keypad touch combination key located on the door no longer is accepting the code to unlock the truck. The keyless remote will unlock and lock the truck but the buttons will not respond to the code to open the driver's door with the keypad. Hum. What could of caused this? Was it because we had both batteries disconnected for a long period of time when we were disconnecting and reconnecting both FICM's in the trucks?

When u guys take it in I would omit the parts swap scenario just to be on the safe side! I was wondering if you ran a scan of your truck prior to the parts swap, And if so what codes came up?

What you took out the ICP sensor did you tighten it back up enough and or was there any damage to the o-rings? I know if you did not tighten it enough and have a leak you will not have enough pressure to fire the injectors. Also were all the plugs put on properly, the FICM has 3 similiar looking plugs that may or may not be interchangable or may did not seat all the way? Just thinking out loud?

Just wanted to let you know that my buddy's truck FICM was bad. We weren't told why it went bad. Luckily the repair was covered under warranty. We did scan both trucks and no codes came up. As far as my truck that is still in the driveway, we tested the FICM and couldn't even get over one volt. When we popped open the FICM taking the torx bolts off, it appeared the seal was air tight as some air/gas escaped. There was an electrical burn smell that escaped out of the box. So now I know for sure the FICM is bad; however, in the time I took to troubleshoot my truck and testing oil pressures, and getting 1800 psi from the ICP at crank, I was satisfied the HPOP is working. In getting fittings to fit in the STC fittings at the HPOP, I had to snap off or should I say, broke off the plastic covers over the STC fittings. My question is, should I leave the fittings as is, or get some kind of covers to cover them again? There is no oil coming out of the exposed STC fittings at the moment. I'm giving up and taking the truck to the dealer.

I thought that plastic fitting thing was just to line up the STC fitting when installing it? I dont think it was supposed to be left on there, I just pulled apart my truck & was gonna upgrade with the new fitting only to discover it had already been changed, I have a fitting kit for the new fitting if you need one, It is only missing the ICP filter & orings and the HPOP cover gasket/o ring. Correct me if i'm wrong.

It was the FICM. What surprises me is that Ford is using remanufactured FICM's and selling them close to what they would cost new. On the other hand, I'm glad it was only that and not the IPR or HPOP.

Just remember weak or bad batteries will kill the FICM i keep mine on a Battery Tender Plus because the batteries are never charge to 100% after you turn your truck off.

FICMs are a big problem on the 6.0. You can buy a half shell from the dealer if you find yours to be bad. Must see over 46v or it wont power the injectors. ICP wont matter when you test it because if you simply just unplug it, it will run at default value. 750psi if I remember correctly.
