    Turbo Wont Come Off!

    Doing an EGR cooler and oil cooler change out, I am stuck on the rear bolt holding the turbo on the pedestal its frozen and rounded looks like previously worked on, Any one have any ideas on how to remove the intake manifold without removing the turbo housing. I am stuck at this point. Anyone familiar with this issue?

    Soak it with PB Blaster. Then maybe some heat? Good luck. Just guessing here.

    any parts store should have it. If you remove the radiator and CAC you should be able to pull the intake straight forward and get it off. I've never done it but i've heard of someone doing it

    Heat with torch and it will come right out.We do this all the time.Dont put heat on bolt around the bolt.

    I was thinking same thing, I was able to get entire pedestal out with the turbo it was tight but I got it out, So already had all other bolts off so it was pretty easy after that. Still need to pull oil cooler but job for different day. I will heat pedestal to get that rear bolt off its on there real tight! I will put some ant-iseize upon reassembly and put new turbo mounting bolts . Thanks Loren and the rest of you guys for the input, I did find some PB Blaster at Wally World!

    There's a freaking mounting tab for the EGR Cooler mount that prevents that maybe an inch or two but I tried, Believe me I tried! The older ones I heard are worse!

    Loren you are the man, Worked like a charm, Heated the pedestal with a torch and bolt came right off even with visegrips!

    Heat is a great thing when it comes to stuck bolts. Just really have to watch what you are heating so that you don't warp anything. Congrats!

    Yep, I heated the pedestal off the truck just enough to get the PB Blaster steaming and off it came like butter, It was a great thing, I even drank a beer to celebrate that great victory!

    How much of a benefit is it to replace the branch pick up tube on the HPOP to the newer upgraded version in the 4C3Z-9B246-F Kit?
