Ticking Noise After First Oil Change

Ok, So I go to Sunrise Fontana for my first oil change. After I leave I pull next to a car a at a signal light and hear a ticking noise that I thought belonged to the car. When I pulled away the ticking really got louder as I drove along the median I could tell it was my truck. (very quiet until now)
I turned around and went back to Sunrise where the SR Mark said it was a reported issue on a TSB and that it was characteristic, described as a "ticking" or typewriter sound and that the noise would go away after a few thousand miles, no other information. WTF? Anyone hear of this? It's a characteristic I don't like, it sounds like a stuck lifter noise and continues through the RPM range.:( Any thoughts on this?

This was an issue on the 6.4's as well when they first came out. I dunno if they ever found the cause of it but some say it's a diesel and diesels make noises.

There is a tsb out on it. Its called the typewriter noise. My 550 had the same noise after the first service.

Sofar everyone says ignore it. Kinda hard to do on a 50k truck. No one has had any issues form because of it either that i know of.

That happened to my 6.4 that I no longer have, I ended up getting a engine "bedplate" oil leak at 4200 miles, Not sure if it was related to the ticking sound after my 1st oil change but that's what happened to mine.

mine quit after a few thousand miles.

Mine finally quit 1500 after the oil change.

its the injectors. my truck does the same thing. i work on marine diesel engines and the volvo d4 and d6 engines make the same noise with the key on not running. they all have bosch common rail injectors. call up bosch and see what they say...duramaxes make the same noise also.

I just got my second oil change, and the ticking returned. We'll see how many miles until the ticking stops again.
