Hook up a tuner that can monitor oil temp and coolant temp and take the toy hauler out for a run. If they run more than 15* out from each other then your oil cooler could be stopped up. This could limmit or send steam into the EGR cooler causing damage and leaks into the intake.
    Did your exhaust have steam?

Any evidence of coolant pushing out the cap? If you're filling it to the "max" line you're overfilling. Hot fill should be the "min" line...Ford changed that spec a while back.

Park the truck on an incline where the nose will be lower than the rear and Pull the EGR valve if the cooler is bad there will be evidence of coolant or a soot paste in the hole where the EGR valve goes, You may want to clean the valve out since you have it out, Just don't get cleaner in the 2 weep holes. Make sure u get the orings and gasket set for the valve before you do this you DO NOT want to reuse the orings as they will get cut up being pulled in & out. Like $7 at ford dealer almost impossible to find at auto part chain stores.

Most tuners have data acquisition. I had a Superchips that I used on my last truck to watch oil temp and water temp and you should not have to load a program on your truck to do it.

It reads oil temps...you just have to program it.

This thread will help you out...there's a link to a .pdf file in post #5 that has the info on how to do it. ScanGauge ll now installed - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums

The SCT will moniter oil temps. You have to dowload the DLX file. You can get that from SCT tech help. I have loaded that file on many tuners and had great luck. We run SCT on all of our trucks, livewire and TSX and moniter oil temp all the time. I have had the discussion with SCT about loading oil temp on all of their tuners... We will see how that turns out, but for now the DLX file works great...
