    collapsed fuel filter?

So a few months back I thought I popped my HPFP because I was going up a hill and lost fuel pressure. Took it to the dealer and they agreed and changed it...problem was it didnt fix the issue. So he checked my filters and claims that the one on the rail(lower) was collapsed and had a slight green tinge to it...well fast forward about 4000 miles and going up a hill again and same thing. I pulled the rail filter this morning and its not collapsed fully but does look like its starting to. The top filter is still clean and white...

Here are 2 pics of the one this morning. The black is from the glove I was wearing when it came out.

So just so the facts are there im running the 275 tune without the tcm and I currently use the diesel additive from xdp diesel power plus. I switched from the stanadyne in Aug. I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue? I am worried that it might be the xdp stuff as I ran the stanadyne for almost 9k miles and never had an issue but both times Ive had this issue has been after about 4k miles on the filter running the xdp stuff.

that big of a tune your hp fuel system is struggling you need an airdog to compensate for the lack of volume and pressure the factory pump puts out

hmmm, thats wierd to see...ive never had that prblem with my truck. granted i run a lower tune when towing, i still cant see that happening. the air dog was a PITA to install. we had to change some of the fittings but it worked out (out of the box was a PITA).

i do like how quiet it is though and the fact that its easier access to the filters

I had one of the guys on the spartan forum tell me his friend has the same thing happen to him. I think the additive i was using and the does was a major issue. I will probably add an air dog here to just for the added safety. Wish I could use the ocdiesel shop but I have to have it installed on a saturday and they dont wrench then. Anyone know a shop in San Diego that they trust?
