    battery cover and wrap

I recently replaced my OEM baterries with two Optima red series. On the drivers side I could not fasten the factory battery cover because the new battery terminals do not line up. I could cut out a bigger areas to make it work. How important is this cover? The heat wrap that went around the OEM battery on the passenger side is too large. The new battery is much futher away from the exhaust because the new batteries are way smaller. Will I be OK without the wrap? Thank you for any answer.

I threw my battery cover away when I changed to Optima batteries 4 years ago and no issues so far.

    I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you Steve and Jimmy for your replies. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't invalidate my warranty.

I wouldn't worry about it. Dealer will have to very hard time to void the warranty or deny claims based on not having battery covers and/or wraps.

I forgot to put mine back on when I did my batteries about 3 years ago and was too lazy to go back. No problems for me.
