Got an '03 7.3 with auto trans, I'm 200 miles from home and now truck won't shift past 2nd gear. I have a programer and reloaded the ECM, didn't help. Is there something I can look for, something easily replaced?

I had a similar problem on a 99 I had. I got lucky though. After checking all the electrical connections( some were loose and nasty), I reset the computer and it went away. Same truck a year later started going from 2nd to neutral. That turned out to be a piece of metal debris(casting flash) stuck in one of the solenoids. Good luck, wish I could be more help.
Fluid level looks ok, doesn't smell burned.

Here's what happened:
I went under the truck, found nothing loose but I did touch the plug on the shift plate sensor, I think that only tells the computor what gear you're selecting, I also disconnected the battery to reset the computor, at least this is what I was thinking.
Short answer, it worked or it just started working, either way, I made it home

Those shift sensors get worn and don't give an accurate position. A buddy of mine had told me that once. They have a little adjustment and are supposed to be set with an ohm meter. Check it out, easy enough to replace and cheaper than a rebuild. Glad you got it up and running!
