Ford is now covering all 6.4 radiators for 5 years or 100000 miles

All 6.4 Radiators are now covered for 5yr/100000 miles
I found this post on another site but for anyone who might have a radiator issue and I know they are out there because I have ,this is good information .

For anyone that doesn't know Ford is now covering all 6.4 radiators for 5 years or 100000 miles which ever comes first. Per TSB 09-23-1 concerning repeat radiators leaks due to possible hyper extended thermostats. However, even if they don't replace the thermostats the radiators are still covered under this tsb because they use the thermostat basic part number as the part when submitting it for a warranty claim. And thermostats on these engines are covered by the diesel powertrain warranty. So for anyone who is trying to be boned by a dealer after 3/36 make sure to tell them to check this tsb. I have already fixed a couple this way.

    Thumbs down

Sounds to me like that dealership is not one I would go to. That is so much BS!!

I'd suggest you go Sunrise Ford, Fontana and get it fixed under the TSB.

Seems to me determining if the thermostat is the cause is very subjective and up to the opinion of the technician working on your truck!!

Sometimes, how good a truck/engine is, depends on who is working on it!!
I've had a couple of warranty issues fixed at Sunrise and the truck runs great.

When I took the TSB in they told me the same thing. They said that Ford has started to crack down on all the dealerships for all the warranty work and making them send all the bad parts in. So all the dealerships that were trying to help out their customers couldn't anymore. The dealership I went to said that they were 99% sure it wasn't the thermostat and it would be a waste of money to pull it out at my expense. The ford tech who I talked to told me that Ford is supposed to be coming out with a new TSB and either just recall the bad Radiators or come up with a real fix. I was lucky and didn't have to pay to get a new radiator my insurance paid for it , long story but I lucked out. If you got to El Cajon Ford and talk to Robby Robinson he is a great service provider. They quoted me 1500 to do it all and if you have owned Fords before he said they could get Ford to foot some of the bill. El Cajon Ford was great to me and did everything in less than a day !! Great people fast service and no BS trying to squeeze money out of us. Good luck sorry I couldn't help more.

I feel you on what you're saying. This is my first Ford, I have always owned GMC / Chevy and said I would never buy a Ford lol. I have had a few problems with my truck so far but like you I paid a ton of money for what was supposed to be a great truck all around. I do love my truck just wish they would do the right thing and fix what they know is faulty parts. With how much trucks cost now and how bad resale or tade ins are I am just going to have to stick it out and hope I dont have too many more issues, not sure if my next truck will be a Ford after this one.
