So far the org members are batting 1000 on figuring out what is wrong with my truck and I have greatly appreciated your help. So here we go again.
I have stupmed my local dealer service department once again. I am concerned about my truck because there is significantly more vibration than normal. It is the worst at a stop or slowing to a stop. As the RPM’s are dropping it starts vibrating and sounds like there is a load on the engine. When I look at the Tacho the RPM’s seem to be where they should be. At a stop the vibration is enough to be felt in the foot and at time pieces in the cab start rattling. When I begin to accelerate the vibration and noise actually seems to go back to normal. On cold starts it will idle at normal RPM and then jump to over 1000 and then when I put my foot on the break it drops. When I shift from drive to Neutral the noise and vibration drop slightly but still seem abnormal. When I shift into reverse it seems to be worse than Drive.
So you know; I have had it into my usual Ford Service guy. He went through it and neutralized the motor and trans (or something like that) and that did not work. He looked through to see if any of the turbo or exhaust pipes were resting on the block and there were none. They say they don’t think anything is wrong and we have been waiting for a Ford Service Engineer (Specialist) to come and look at it but it has been two weeks and he has not called back.
Does anyone have any ideas. Please, please, please help. I am quickly beginning to think I may have bought one of those problem 6.0’s. The truck only has 45K miles on it.
**UPDATE** After having the Ford Service Technician drive the truck he validated my concerns that was an abnormal vibration which he immediately assumed was coming form a poorly aligned exhaust. Two days later nothing had been looked at but they asked about previous work, which they had done to re-balance the turbo. Sat over the weekend... Monday interrogated me about the coolant filter. Today after going through the Ford Hotline Have decided that this is a normal condittion for a 2006 powerstroke. Basically Ford is telling me that I need to learn to live with it until something actually breaks. They seem to discount any suggestions that I make regarding the flywheel or torque converter that has been suggested several time here and on the nation so I don't know if they have even been checked.
If it is normal for a 6.0 to do this then so be it. I just find that a hard pill to swallow being that it was smoothe as butter until about a month and a half agoe and that it just happened to be the same time that they worked on my truck for the turbo going out of alingnment.
What do you guys think? Do I trust what they are telling me or what. Please give me your opinions on anything regarding this...what's wrong what I should do next...anything
