    Proper Break In

I've just ordered a 2005 F350 DRW CC and am curious what the proper break in procedure is. My 5th wheel is about 12,000 lbs loaded and would really like to know how soon I can lug it.

Second question: The truck will also be my daily driver. Since my work is about 5 minutes away, it hardly gets to warm up before I shut it down. Is this a problem? Any suggestions?

Put 500 miles on it before you tow

Then drive it like you stole it

Just kidding drive it the way you will everyday.

Take it out on the weekends for a longer drive.

Ummmm, yeah, put 500 to 1000 miles on it driving it like you stole it and then change the oil before you tow with it. That has seemed to work for me as I havn't had a single problem and my Blackstone reports are showing less than 0.2 percent fuel contamination.

    Re: Proper Break In

the rear axle gears need to set and harden for the first 400-500 miles..the motor is less of a concern IMO. My dad's old 93 [censored] 1/2 ton killed the rear axle because he towed right off the showroom floor across country.

Gear ppl tell me that they want you to take it easy for 400 miles when I've had new ring and pinions put in.
