"Studs in the near future, OCD here I come"

Well bought an edge insight CTS from Raul and found out that my EOT and ECT are @ 15 degrees apart at higway speeds with an empty truck. Bad news for sure, so I need to get ready and get this done asap I have ordered studs already and trying to get the $$ together to go see Bud at OCD, that being said does anybody have any idea how much aprox. it would cost.
As I said I have already ordered ARP studs and trying to get as many needed parts together as possible, and am planning on going with a BPD EGR cooler and either going with a stock oil cooler or with this "high flow oil cooler" Innovative Performance Research as anybody heard of these guys? they seem to be local so any input will be appreciated, hopefully someone from OCD can chime in.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!!.

    Mario.

I don't know about that IPD cooler, but their website is kinda strange...if you click on the links to their other products you get a block planer and a spoke shave, with the descriptions of those products written in Latin.

Personally I don't think there's a need for an aftermarket cooler for 99% of us. Good cooling system maintenance and the addition of a filter will keep the stock unit happy for a long, long time.

I have been looking at the Bullet Proof remote oil cooler set up from BulletProofDiesel BulletProofDiesel - Darn-Near Bullet Proof Diesel Products for your 6.0 ......someday
It puts it out in front of the truck and adds a spin on filter.
'97 Dodge 3500, Club Cab, 4x4, Dually, 5.9 Cummins 12V, SMOG EXEMPT, 4" turbo back, gauges, EGR Delete. Built Auto with billet twin disk converter, TransGo shift kit, HF clutches, HD Sprag, PML Pan, AFE stage 1, 100 fuel plate, AFC full forward. 3000 GSK.

Yes, my last truck was an '06 Superduty, liked it, just too much money to own, SMOG, register, build, and maintain.

Towing Queen for: '09 Attitude 33AKSG Fithwheel Toyhauler, FX package, all options and then some, axle oversprung conversion for 5" lift, 15K GVWR

My truck is at OCD right now. I wil pick it up Thursday. They are doing everything EGR cooler, OIL cooler (Bulletproof), the ARP head studs among a lot of other things. the total price is about 5K. We will see how it runs when I get it back.

With all that stuff you're putting in there, it'll be really stout.

Darn, I wish I could afford the bullet proof oil cooler but that's a almost 2k right there but well worth it. Did you do the BPD's EGR delete or the updated EGR cooler??. I already have some parts (Studs, Stock Oil Cooler), I will probably get mine done January 2011, please let us now how you like it and what kind of temps. you see after the upgrade.

Glad to hear that you are happy with the surgery performed on your truck and that its running better than ever!!... At the risk of sounding too nosey, can you tell me if the 5k included all parts??.

    Merry Christmas!!

That price seems kind of on the low side for a 6.0. Did you supply any of the parts?

So i am in the same place. Just took the 6.0 to the dealer and they are doing the standard EGR and cooler (third time.) Do i spend the money and get the remote unit for 2k or do I get the Innovative "upgrade" for 400? Is the 1600 worth it?

Did the dealer also replace the oil cooler when they did the EGR cooler? A clogged oil cooler is the most common cause of EGR cooler failure.

You might consider installing a coolant filter as a preventative measure...reasonably cheap, and easy to do. Dieselsite is a popular choice: http://www.dieselsite.com/index.asp?...ROD&ProdID=324
