Johnsons Alignment in Torrance is one of the best in the industry. Last time I was there, they were working on an extremely lifted Excursion.

I had my cobra's alignment done there. They did it by hand. No computers. They had me sit in the car so they could get the perfect weight balance. They are top notch. Owner is a porsche racer so they have some nice old school porsches there.

that's what i keep hearing i guess I'm going to make an appointment. thanks guys
i know this is off subject, but i have to smog my truck and i was wondering if you guys now what they check for? is it just a visual or do they hook up the computer to the ( obd2 ).
The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of deleting the EGR and I can turn off the check engine light with the SCT but if they hook it up to computer then im screwed.

What Jay said is totally accurate about Johnsons. They may ask you your weight and then place weights in the vehicle to simulate your weight on the suspension while they do the alignment. When I was last there, I brought in a Porsche GT3 to be aligned for track use, and they did a great job. They aren't the cheapest, but they aren't the most expensive either, but they are definitely one of the best.

Check out the other posts that already talk about smog check experiences. There is a visual check to ensure all emissions components are in place, and there is a visual check of the opacity of the exhaust emissions coming from the tailpipe. If you think what's coming out of your tailpipe is a bit questionable, and your exhaust exits on the passenger side, do yourself a favor and remove your passenger side view mirror. It seems that everyone has reported the smog tech looks in the passenger side view mirror to look at the exhaust, and if it's not there, I don't see how he's going to be able to check the emissions unless he's got someone else working with him.

I took my truck in for alignment on friday and my truck is still pulling, they said that my truck is off on the camber, but that they can't fix that because then the axle seal leaks. I replaced my ball joints about 3 months ago and rotated my tires thinking that would fix my problem, but it still pulls to the left is not that bad but i hate fitting the steering wheel specially on long trips or when i tow. Sometimes it pulls harder when i brake the guy at the alignment shop said that the truck should not be pulling even though my camber is off that it may be something tweaked or brakes are no good. My brakes are like 5 months old so i don't think its a brake problem and it pulls when the brakes are not applied. My question is can camber be adjusted? Will axle seal leak?

I don't have a response for you regarding the camber and axle seal issue, I'm sure someone else will chime in. As for the brakes, even though they're new, it's important to make sure the brake caliper pistons are operating properly. If the caliper(s) are causing the brakes to drag on the rotor(s) then that could cause your pulling even though you're not applying the brakes. You'd have to put the truck on jackstands and ensure that the brakes were releasing completely when the brake pedal is not depressed.

    Accurate Alignment, 971 N Batavia St in Orange.(714) 538-1916

Jon is the owner. I guarantee he will have no problem dealing with your problem. Fact is my truck will be going there later this week, as I am putting on new rims and tires and Jons the only one I trust with any of my trucks including my company vehicles.
