    Oil and white smoke?

I noticed this morning that I had a decent amount of white smoke coming out my exhaust at idol and of course when I gave her a little gas the amount of smoke increased. I'm not smoke screening anyone following behind me as of right now. The more I looked at it I noticed when given some throttle, that some pretty dirty oil droplets are being tossed out the end of the exhaust.

I'm definitely no diesel mech but I would love to know what I'm looking at here and how severe this issue is. I'm currently about a two hour drive from home and I'm debating whether or not to just put it in a shop here or make it home and put it in a shop with guys I trust.

Any input, advice and troubleshooting is greatly appreciated.

Take it to whom you trust. Hopefully you make it home. Worst case AAA. Good luck.

No it runs just fine. I probably wouldn't of noticed it if I hadn't of looked in my side view mirror.

After talking to a few people, I'm being told that it's not oil but dirty coolant that's picked up a lot of crud coming down my exhaust. So meaning it's my EGR Cooler that is bad. So if my truck isn't throwing a code that means the EGR valve must me good, right? So is replacing the EGR Cooler that hard? Other wise I got a buddy up here in 29 Palms that's going to tow me back to Temecula and I'll put her in the shop on Monday. I'm told if I drive it with the EGR Cooler out that I will blow my head gasket if I haven't already.

Does any of this sound familiar and correct to all of you?

A leaking EGR cooler doesn't throw a code.

You won't necessarily blow a head gasket if you drive it, but it's possible if the EGR cooler leak gets worse.

The oil cooler coolant side being clogged is probably what caused the EGR cooler to crack in the first place, so you should plan on replacing the oil cooler too.
