Thank you jimmy jammer - fkn theives

Last night I awoke to my psuedo-train horn blaring @ 130am. I sleep upstairs about 30 feet from my truck. About 5 seconds after the alarms/horns went off, the f'ing coward/worthless pieces of s*&t drove away fast. Within 10 seconds I was in the front yard, but two of my neighbors were out there first. The front driver door was cracked open, but still locked. Wow, it was hard to go back to sleep with my heart racing and that violated feeling inside. I know unloading 20 rounds of hollow tips from my Glock 9mm with would feel good getting rid of those waste of humanities - so that it wouldn't happen again. Then again, we are in CA, so that is not an option.

Back to reality; Earlier this year I replaced my plastic door handles for the chromed aluminum billet style handles all the way around the truck. They aren't cheap. But.....that's not what saved the truck.

Before replacing the handles, I read about others whose SD's were violated and had items stolen out of their truck. Luckily, I take EVERYTHING from the truck into the house EVERY night, except for the $1k double din Pioneer GPS Nav unit. I READ ABOUT JIMMI JAMMER, (http://www.jimmijammer.com/Product,%20JJ.htm) and had to have those puppies installed with the new handles. I'm not a salesman, just a lucky person.

Well, the JIMMI JAMMER is not made to fit around the thickness of the billet handle, but I bent it and got it on there. But instead of aligning it nicely with the key cylinder, I cocked it sideways so that it would not let the key cylinder slide out of the handle when hammered. And then I had Rattle Trap tar paper 5 layers thick on everything inside the door.

So when the loser/druggy used a large screwdriver and hammered in the key cylinder, it wouldn't move out of the handle, because it has the JIMMI JAMMER wedged behind it. They finally got the door to open part-way, but it was still locked, so the door would not open, and the Ford alarm went off.

This morning, I quickly pulled the door apart, put a small piece of aluminum in front of the damaged key cylinder, then bolted the cylinder back in and tar papered it to the handle. Then I placed a large washer over the back of the key cylinder and tar papered it down. I had to remove the actual unlock arm on the back of the key cylinder, since it is of no use anymore. Then I reinstalled the door handle with the JIMMI JAMMER smashed against the washer, holding the aluminum plate and key cylinder in place, then tar papered it. SO if there is a next time (hopefully not) the alarm will sound before they get in.

I am very lucky having not lost anything, and I only lost the use of the driver side keyhole, which I have NEVER used once. I advise everyone to install the JIMMI JAMMER on all four doors. The best $50 I have ever spent to date. http://www.aztrucks.com/product.asp?pr=Jimmi_Jammer

I just want everyone to have the same results with those waste-of-humanity theives. Nothing really broken and nothing stolen. Just the feeling of anger and violation; which is already going away..................

In case we find ourselves starting to believe all the anti-American sentiment and negativity, we should remember England 's Prime Minister Tony Blair's words during a recent interview. When asked by one of his Parliament members why he believes so much in America , he said:
"A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many want in... And how many want out." Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you:
    1. Jesus Christ
    2. The American G. I.
One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

JUST REMEMBER, the jimmi jammer alone will not stop them. It was a number of things I did to stop easy entry, not 100% the jimmi jammer. But all the things I DID inside the door added up to stop them. You couldn't push hard enough and make the door open (via the keyhole) with all I did inside that door. Maybe next time they will get in. Hopefully not. The rattle trap (tar stuff) was 5 layers thick did not allow the jimmi jammer to move at all. And the jimmi jammer being mounted cock-eyed on the key cylinder helped keep the key cylinder in the billet aluminum 'mount'.

I was thinking months back, I should have ordered the NO KEY billet handles & remove the key hole entirely and just put solid door handles like the back 2 ones. BUT THEN THE THIEF WILL BREAK A WINDOW TO GET IN. So (I read on another thread) about a smart truck owner who took the metal connection off, between the key cylinder and the lock mechanism. His truck has been tried for a break-in about 20 times or so, and they just leave in alone, since the key cylinder is connected to nothing. His key holes are all messed up anyway, now.

So removing the metal bar connection is a good decoy.

Glad to hear your truck survived the attempted break-in well. Be sure to report it to your local PD in the event they catch the guy, they can tie multiple crimes together to charge him with and ultimately get more time.

Glad he didnt get in. My truck would not start the other morning when I tried it either. The anti theft light was flashing so I used the remote to unlock the doors a few times and then it started right up.

Piece of crap punched through my driver side keyhole yesterday while I was at the gym during lunch in La Mirada. Stole my Pioneer DVD touch screen. I consoled myself that at least he didn't destroy my dash or door in the process. Unfortunately I didn't know about Jimmijammer and I took it to Ford to replace the latch (had to paint it yellow) and the a/c switches that they broke ripping off the dash. Damn, I'd love to catch them in the act. I'm 6'5" and 240lbs and pretty confident I could kick some gangster ass. Cost so far is $400 for the door latch and a/c controls and the stereo will be $500. I'm buying Jimmijammers now and will try to duplicate your tar paper. Any pics? I also ordered an autopage FA-110 to add to the keyless entry and I'll integrate that with my trainhorns. Some gangster is going to have a hearing problem if he messes with me again.

Sorry to hear about this......It just pisses me off when I hear things like this. I will try to take some pics this weekend for the inside of the door. I thought that all trucks had a stock alarm. I'm pretty sure that my alarm is from the factory, it's definetely not aftermarket. When I unlock the truck, I have 30 seconds to start it, or the red (alarm) light starts to flash, and the ignition is disabled. If the doors open while the alarm in on, it screams a little crappy electric train horn, that is much louder than the stock horn. (I am yet to install my 10 galloon tank and 2 viair compressor and my rebuilt old school Leslie K3LA).

Someone said the jimmy jammer alone did not help when their truck was broken in to. The jimmi jammer is not made for 'real' billet handles, just for the standard oem handles. The billets are very thick. SO the JJ had to be tweaked (bent) a little to make it fit on my truck, which made the key-cylinder misaligned with the hole in the JJ. THe JJ was meant to stop someone from going under (between the plastic and the metal door) or through the plastic handle to access the linkage from the key-cylinder to the locking mechanism.

BUT IF THE KEY-CYLINDER IS PUNCHED WITH A LARGE SCREW DRIVER AND (SLEDGE) HAMMER, the key cylinder pops out the back side of the handle, and through the jimmi jammer hole, and they get into the truck and steal everything. I ofset the jimmi jammer, so that the key-cylinder is offset with the hole in the jimmi jammer. The key-cylinder cannot move much, and won't go through the stainless stell (offset) jimmi jammer.

After the last attempt to get into my truck, I just disconnected the rod from the key-cylinder to the locking mechanism. They can fiddle all they want, but the key will not get them in a position to open the door. If the batteries go dead, then I cannot open the truck, but that is unlikely. I replace the 2 batteries every 5 years with deep cycle glass-mat batteries. I haven't used a key to get into a car/truck in 15 or so years.

Hopefully, I can get some pictures and p[ost them. Good luck fixing it so that those f-rs will never get into it again.

Thanks. If your batteries go dead you can hook up to the + and - on your trailer light socket to power the system enough to unlock the doors. Cool little trick I figured out 600 miles south in Baja when I left my Expedition locked up with the dome light on overnight. I really had to think about that one - didn't want to bust the window and then have no a/c for the ride home across the desert. Thanks for the tips on the jj. I'll look it over and do something similar. I'm going to remove the key cylinders and install the jj blockoffs.

I've had both key holes punched in but the retards couldn't figure out how to open the door and get in. I bought some key hole plugs from the same people that make jimmy jammers and put them in. I didn't have the money for the jimmy jammers at the time. I need to order some. Regardless if someone wants in they will find a way in.
