OK so I towed the boat home with little problems but the truck would act up climbing hills and getting on the gas a bit. And yesterday the light turned off. Im thinking the EGR needs cleaning. Anyone think it could be something else?
Ok, figured out what was going on (or what I think was wrong).

Gotta do this this weekend, what did youuse to clean it and was theEGR tract dirty too?!? DId you use the wire pull method or channel locks prybar.....

When I sent to PeP Boys to get some carb cleaner, I saw this pry bar next to the check stand and it was only $6.99. So I purchased it and it worked great. After removing the two 8mm bolts, I placed this pry bar under the dog ears to "break it lose" and with a lage channel locks pulled it out. Took about two minutes to get it out.

After a few minutes of cleaning and a little Gumout Carb Cleaner, which loosen it up but didn't remove it, had to swab and wipe with shop rags and jeweller screw drivers...

Took sometime to start as the terminals on the batteries needed some love. Blew white for about a minute then it was clear.
Question, the bottom of the manifold had some moist brown oil looking fluid in it, when I got some on my finger it felt like dirty water. This this indicating a cooler leak? I have a bad radiator the body shop is replacing under warranty....the top plastic tank is crusty and I have been running straight distilled water...

yes but like i said outside the top gasket of the egr theres 2 vent holes if their balack that means exhaust is going threw the shaft and entering the elctronic part of the egr valve and causing it to stick and exhaust is exiting the vent holes. so look at the vent holes. theres to types of injector cleaning thers additive for the oil side of the injectors. Hot shots super secret and a flush chemical for the fuel side
Holes where pristine, REALLY clean...was relieved when I saw that after your post. Whats a good cleaning run for my 06? EGR, intake and everything?
Got oil on my turbo boot, this is CCV right? Will a CCV reroute do any harm?
