Transfer- case question???

Time for me to replace the fluid in the transfer-case. The manual says use MERCON ATF- Part # XT-2-QDX.... I find out that the part# is discontinued and it is now XT-5-QMC (which is actually MERCON V). Anywho... I pick -up a case of fluid. Here's the kick, On the back of the bottle it says "do not use in transfer-cases".....What now???? So my question is, Is the XT-5-QMC fluid safe to use in my transfer case? Any clarification would be great.... Thanks

Return the Mercon V and get name brand synthetic Mercon ATF from auto part store.

Transfer case takes 2 quarts of oil.
