    Fuel efficiency and heavy duty trucks haven’t traditionally been talked about in the same sentence. That’s changed now, thanks to the 2011 Ford F-Series Super DutyŽ. Ford recently invited journalists to test-drive the new Super Duty in Arizona. During the program, Ford challenged these reporters to a contest to see who could achieve the best fuel economy while driving a the Ford-built 6.7-liter Power StrokeŽ V8 on an 80-mile stretch of surface roads and highways. The winning media team on the first round achieved 29.2 mpg and the second an astonishing 34 mpg!

    No freakin' way! That's spectacular! I may have to sell my Excursion if the new 6.7 is this good.

    Our truck had 3.55's - that truck had 3.31's.

    That is an amazing number, but... 80 miles on a full tank and a refill to calculate by the odometer or ....was it by the information center in the truck. as we all know the information center in our trucks are not exactly perfect.:(

    Those figures were taken from the info center, but the info is calculated in a different manner than it was on our older trucks. The engineer that rode with us specifically stated that the information display has been tested for accuracy to .1mpg.

    OMG!!!! :jawdrop: That kind of mileage does not go with the pony power this truck is supposed to put out. If this info is accurate my truck might finnaly be my daily driver. woohoo! go FOMOCO:peace:
