    Tire Chains???

Recently bought an 09 F250 4x4 FX and recall the salesman having me sign something noting that I cannot install chains on my tires. I cannot find a copy of this form and was wondering if anyone knew why they would say not to use chains.

I am heading up to Big Bear and although I don't think that I would need them, it currently says they are required.

    Thanks for the help,
    Jim

I am not sure but i think it is just liability BS. Chains are prone to breaking and causing damage to the vehicle. JMHO.

Unfortunately, if you go up into the mountains without snow tires or chains, the authorities will turn you around if they deem them necessary to proceed, assuming they are monitoring the routes. :)

I don't recall signing any form of that nature when I bought mine though.

    Enjoy the trip.

They'd never sell any cars in areas that snow! I'm sure it's a liability issue; there are plenty of Ford trucks out there with chains! Now, how much they cost for tires that size is a whole different story! Have fun in the snow!!
