purchased from Bobby Williams of Sunrise Ford in Fontana. great truck with incredible customer service.
I have been using NAPA legend's, my second prorated set. Cant say I would recomend them. Heard good things about the heavy duty Motorcraft's (850cca). Also duralast gold tops. I'll probably try these next time around.

I'm being told to try to get two 1000 CCA batteries....
Is that what I should get?
I'm being told being a diesel I want the strongest I can get?
LOL that'd be awesome to find a set of 1000 cca batteries for cheap $$$.

I was thinking of getting two optimas but with the issues people have had I'm not sure any more. I have a red top in my Explorer and one in my 5.4L but I wanted a pair in my 7.3L too. But that'd be in the $400 neighborhood.

While we find your parts, please enter your ZIP Code at CSK Auto
I wonder why the red tops seen to have more CCA's than the yellow tops but the yellows have more reserve. So which is best???

yellow top is an accessory battery. for like stereos and different things like that. red tops i think are not a deep cycle battery but they are more for starting batteries than anything. hope this helps.

I run Interstate in the PSD Excursion and Blue Top Optimas in my boat.
I was told Optimas are no good for diesel?
I gues it was because they dont have high CCA's?
Everyone keeps posting the brands they run, but what about your CCA ratings?
i think the napa 85's i have are like 900 cca or right around that
