I know this is a little far for most of you, but still wanted to extend an invite..........

This event is open to all trucks, both diesel and gas. Two years ago about 60 trucks showed up and last year we doubled that amount to 125 trucks, the split between gas and diesel was roughly 50-50. This year, we would love to double that again.

Last year we had slow trucks and we had fast trucks, we had trucks from all over the west coast, we had some carnage on the track, we even had little kids on bicycles on the track during intermission.

This is a fun event, very family friendly and open to all. Bring your old farm truck, your daily work truck, your full-on competition race truck, go rent a truck:grin::grin::grin:

Bad weekend this year. The NHRDA West Coast Championship is that same weekend in Boise, ID. I'll be there and I know several of our other members will be there as well.

turn out was fairly light this year as expected with all the other events going on.

We were all surprised when Bill Fletcher of Cummins racing fame showed up after battling snow and ice on their 14 hour drive from Stanwood WA with his old truck nick-named "Ernie".

They unloaded the truck in the staging lanes and the first pass was a 10.6 run at 132 mph. The second pass, the truck spit a freeze plug and he watered the track, causing him to loose control, the truck spun, hit the wall almost headon and rolled a couple of times and skidded down the track on its side for a couple of hundred feet.

The driver who's first name is Taylor and I cant recall the last name, was uninjured, a few bumps and a little dazed when I talked to him (after ambulance crew checked him out), the truck was totalled, I think they may be able to salvage the tail light lenses.


THis should be a wakeup call to all to never scrimp on safety. I have been attending diesel truck events for 10 years now, I have seen a lot of mechanical carnage on the track, but this one could have been a lot worse.
