Excellent experience from Bud at OC Diesel Shop

So I went in yesterday, wednesday June 24th to OC Diesel Shop to have Bud install the injectors on my truck and diagnose the glow plug issue ive had since day 1 of buying this truck.

I got some stage 2 single shots from a friend, and new glow plugs. Bud ordered me a new glow plug controller. Matt I believe was the mechanic that was working on my truck. He also fixed a slight diesel leak i developed last week coming from the fuel line on the rear passenger side. He zip-tied all the loose wiring inthe engine bay to clean it up.

My old injectors were pretty bad. New ones went in with new glow plugs, and truck started up pretty fast. Smoked a bit but not as much as I expected.

During the first test drive, Matt blew the intercooler hose off so we put a different one on and so far no problems.

Now as usual, my truck gave us problems. Until this point, there were no issues, but while trying to test the glow plug system, the ford diagnostic program that bud had, couldnt communicate with teh PCM.

After some more testing, bud found out that at Idle, in park or neutral, with the ebrake on, my PCM was saying the truck is moving at 2.98 mph. Therefore, the test wouldnt run, because on the conditions for the test to run is the truck has to be in park and the ebrake has to be on.

Bud recalibrated the PCM to show the 4.30 gears i had and got the tires as close to my 37" size as possible. But no luck in getting the PCM to connect to his computer for the Glow plug test.

We took the amp draw readings from the valve cover harnesses, and saw about 60amps or so from both sides, so the glow plugs are drawing power, but the diagnostic program cant verify that.

It was late in the evening, and so I left the shop with the injectors in but not getting the full diagnostic testing done. Im going to return to buds shop maybe next week to reflash the PCM and try it again.

All in all,Bud and Jim are great guys. Matt the tech working on my truck was awesome as well. The other tech guys int he shop, which i didnt catch their names, were very helpful as well. All of them were extremely nice and answered all my annoying questions.

I woudl definately recommend Buds shop to anyone who needs work done on their trucks.

Did your injectors need to be replaced because of your Vegistroke kit?

No the injectors were bad when I bought the truck last year from the previous owner. Ive had the same issues from day 1. Running bad oil did leave some marks on the injectors but I dont think it ruined them.

Well one of the techs while doing my oil change, dropped the oil filter and got oil all over the floor and himself. For a chance I wasnt the oily one.
