SoCAPS 4th Birthday!!
Here's the latest news on the Birthday meeting!

Date/Time: Sunday, February 11th, 9AM to 4PM
Location: Sunrise Ford, Fontana
Everyone is welcome...Bring your family, friends, neighbors......

Schedules for the day:
8:30 AM Arrive, Sign in, Sign Up for Dyno, Buy Lunch
9:00 AM Dyno begins
10:30 AM Skill Driving Course Opens
11:30 AM Lunch (Dyno and Skill Driving Course Shut Down)
12:30 - 1 PM Club Business Meeting
1 PM Dyno and Skill Driving Course begin again
2 PM Skill Driving Course Shuts Down
4 PM Dyno and all events Shut Down
End of event, clean up, and then travel to home..........

Lunch :flatware:
Will be prepared by our own Chef Gene
All you can eat barbecue and drinks
Cost $7 per person

Dyno :spin:
Cost $10 per run (Pay when you get to the dyno)
Sign up begins at 8:30 AM and will be first come, first to dyno!
Limit of one run per member...unless we have time for more.
Dyno will be limited to SoCAPS members and Fords only!
Members will have to sign a Liability Waiver for Dyno Runs.

Skill Driving Course (SDC) :arrow:
Cost $1 per drive (Pay when you line up to drive)
Sign up will be first come, first to drive!
After each drive, if you want to drive again, you'll have to get back in line!
The course will have two classes of drivers: 4X2 and 4X4
[I bet you thought the two classes were "Good" & "Bad"!]
Seat belts must be installed in the vehicle and must be worn on the course.
People driving the course will have to sign a Liability Waiver!

2008 6.4L Super Duty on Display :jump:
The dealership is planning to have a 2008 6.4L Super Duty available to members to test drive and check out!!

Over Night Camping
Free dry camping (no hook ups) for RV's is available at the location if you'd like to come the day before and/or stay that night. The camping is on the unpaved lot next to the dealership. If you have any questions, please PM BWilliams or post in the thread titled "February 11th Event Over Night Camping" in this forum.

Note: Each member attending the meeting will receive a free SoCAPS t-shirt (new design) courtesy of Sunrise Ford and SoCAPS when they sign in. Sizes will be available on a first come basis. Additional t-shirts may be purchased after lunch for $10/shirt.

Tentatively we liked to do a Show & Shine competition, but I'm unsure how many participants we'd have. Please see the thread/poll in this forum titled "February 11th Show and Shine Poll". If there is enough interest, I will set it up.

Just as a note, we're hoping to have a diesel magazine reporter at the meeting and possibly have a magazine article published about the meeting!

The meeting will be held regardless of the weather. If we have bad weather, adjustments will have to be made...but it will still be a fun day!!

Just got conformation that there will be an International / Ford rep here for the meeting to discuss details about the new 6.4L PSD. His name is Matt Hahn. He seems to be a knowledgeable guy and is excited to meet the membership. He was even aware of the DHRA and a fan too boot. I told him that the Sroked Lightning truck/owner/driver is trying to give those Dodge boys a run for there money this year.



Also, we will have T-Shirts available at the meeting along with a few other items with the SoCAPS Logo on them for giveaways to registered members. There should be plenty to go around, but I would recommend getting there early :-)



We really need to get as many members to the meeting as possible so we can make a good impression to the International/Ford guy !!!

I got to look at an 08 F450...... and it was niiice! I couldn't believe how quiet it was. I can't wait to check them out at the meeting!
