Can anyone tell me why the 08 450 has lower horse power and torque ratings than the 350/250's have? I was shocked to see that. Why?

I have yet to get a real reason behind it, but my thinking is emissions output with the lower gear ratio and GVWR of the truck.Originally Posted by FORDWILLY

Maybe long term reliability??? This truck is definately designed for towing (yes I know they all are but this one more so than the others) and maybe the small amount of power reduction helps with the long term reliability.
Plus there was a thread on this on The Diesel Stop as well.
