It looked like Gene was first to run yesterday, I was watching the live feed on another site but didn't get to see him go because of a darn (important) phone call! Hopefully he did good.

04 4WD Excursion (Back to Ford on Lemon Law 2-25-2010)
His best time was 12.003 on a 12.0 dial in. That was with a mild tune so he could bracket race. Once the bracket racing is over he will put in a hot program and go for a fast time. John Wood is there with his SCT programmer helping Gene.
Should be interesting later today. Th trucks all time best was an 11.51. The truck has a lot more power now than it did during that run. At 11.49 the rules require a roll bar which we don't have. So Gene is gonna have to make a test run or 2 and get out of it after the 1/8th mile to stay above 11.49. After that he'll probably only get 1 full run because the officials will cut him off after going below 11.49.

Here's another update. First run this morning, at about 1000 ft. out the up-pipe blew up. Not sure how much pressure it takes to tear open one of those, but I'll guess it was substantial. Anyhow, Gene is done for today.:(

That's a bummer, sounds like alot of pressure was being put out.

I'm sure the wheels in Gene's head were turning the minute he laid eyes on that carnage . . . Can't wait to see Stroked Lightning break into the 10's.
