I would say Garrett ball bearing turbo or the Hypermax H2E.

The H2E will give you room to grow if you decide to add injectors or other toys.

I love my H2e and would not trade it for any other turbo out there.

It does spool up a bit slower on take-off but the increase in power more than makes up for it.

On dieselsite.com it says that the h2e is for 400+ horsepower applications im not anywhere near this?? is this still the way to go for reliability? i tow a 24 ft. enclosed trailer across texas so i want it to be very reliable thanks.

I would love an H2E but I am not sure funds will allow it. Money needs to start going elsewhere at some point.

I know lots of people at the diesel stop are running them with 350 or 300hp even with good success. Heard nothing about it being unreliable, I am sure it is very reliable, but I will let others who know more answer that for sure.

i cant remember where i saw it but theres a quick spool h2e that would work better with the stock injectors. i think if your gonna stay with stock fuel a garret ball bearing would be a better match to your truck.but if your lookin at injectors later the quickspool would be great for a mild injector and if you went bigger over that you could put the original h2e exaust housing on it.

speakin of turbos i was lookin at a 2006 ford lcf (low cab forward) yesterday with the 4.5l v-6 powerstroke and it had twin turbos onit. man that thing is quick.

alright thanks what about the garrett GTP38Ris it better and more reliable than the Hypermax h2e.. will either one blow my head gaskets or cause me any trouble??? thanks also is the banks power elbow worth buying??

You should only have to worry about your head gaskets at 40psi. I don't think you could reach that on stock injectors.

If you want something that is a bolt in replacement the GTP38R will bolt right in.

The H2e requires a lot more parts and work http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/smash.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/smash.gif

I hit 48 psi on stock head gaskets in my F450 all the time 55 psi is usually the burst point http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/omg.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/omg.gif

i run the garret bb turbo with swamps 175 injectors, it makes great power, i don't know the performance difference from the h2e but the garrett was easy to do, kind of. what's the price difference from the 2?

The H2 is a lot more money and a lot more work http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/smash.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/smash.gif

But I wouldn't trade it for anything less than a set of TWINS http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/yay.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/yay.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/yay.gif

how big of a difference did you notice, did you ever have the bb? i wouldn't mind the work but is it really worth it?

Unless you are going to get some BIG injectors there is not much use of getting an H2.

We have the BB turbo on Little John's truck with a set of AC single shot injectors.

That makes for a sweet street set up , spools fast and hauls A$$

since all of the aftermarket products on your rig are Banks, i would stick w/ banks so in the future you can deal w/ only one dealer. banks is known for diesel power. i am just starting to upgrade my rig and i love driving my truck even more. you can't go wrong w/ banks Quick-Turbo Assembly.
