The SoCAPS Red Racer did well today
To say the least we had a blast
The truck ran a best 13.991 @ 96.077 mph
With a backup run of 13.998 @ 96.462 mph
Even with a set of 28/10.50-16 Hoosier slicks on the back we had trouble getting off the line.
Here is the break down of the best run

0-60' 1.911
330' 5.724
660' 8.905 @ 77.642 mph (1/8 mile)
1000' 11.573
1320' 13.991 @ 96.077 mph (1/4 mile)

With the help of some traction bars and some rear suspension mods we hope to get the truck in the very low 13's.
Remember this is a 2WD truck which makes it a little harder to get going.

There is some other good news for today but I will let IDK tell what it is.

And a big THANK YOU to Brian C for letting us run this AWESOME truck of his.

Hey Gene, I was asking on another thread, didn't see this one. First off, it was really cool seeing all the Fords out there today and nice to meet you Gene, Roger and the others, and what a cool little red truck. Just wondering, why didn't you guys give those tires a good warming before running it, I was waiting to see you put those things up in smoke. Was that your big white dually as well? Looked to be rather well fueled - nice trucks. Oh yeah, the smoke show on the way home was fun too http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/grin.gif

WOW!!! That is a great time. I wonder what Woodman's 4X4 would do??

If Woodman can get better grip his time would be quicker.

Gene and I have some plans to get better grip on the red truck. It needs traction bars or maybe even a four link. I heard about an old trick with the leafs and a bump stop we're gonna try next. It's kind of a cheap way to do traction bars. If that doesn't get us grip we'll go for a real traction bar setup. Then we'll do the full four link if we still need more traction.

We didnot want to heat the tires up because it would only go into very bad wheel hop.
Being a 2WD we have to cure the traction problem then we can heat them up.

Yea the big white dually is my daily driver.

Makes sense Gene, cool little truck, and the white dually is really cool too.

Just so you all know, since you seem to like the thought of whooping on some Dodges and Fords, starting May 1st at the 3rd round, there will be fast 4 eliminations at the end of the brackets. The fastest 4 times of the day will run heads up - 1&2 and 3&4. The winners of these meet in the final for fast time honors. So if there are some runners lurking in the Southern Cal area, get em out there.
