So I am having some heat issues. I am going to replace the fan clutch and thermostat along with the water pump. Might as well flush it. But my needle is rising to high at highway speed... What is the best thermostat and water pump? anything else? any ideas?

maybe you can fill in your sig.. truck year, model, motor , auto or stick, maybe install a real water temp gauge an see what the water temp really is.

Sry 93 f350 7.3 4x4... auto...

I ordered a real gauge...

but id imagine on the stock it should not go up to much... It's only at higher speeds. I feel like its a cooling system capacity issue. Like the pump, fan clutch, or thermostat. the system is not low so i think the heads are fine. If the fan clutch goes out does it lock up or does it spin and not go with the motor?

Start with the thermostat and see how that goes.

So in terms of thermostats, the factory is 195? Should I go lower or stay 195 so I can burn more of the fuel during combustion?

I finally got around to the truck. I changed out the thermostat last night and it seems to be fine its running low in temperature right at the begining of normal but it was to cold to completely say its fixed. I will report back!

I changed out the thermostat and now I can't even get it to overheat if I am on it! The guy that owned it previously must have put in a low flow thermostat. The one I put in can flow much much more. Thanks guys.
