Finally got my exhaust! http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/grin.gif Big ups to Jeremy and Derek at J&D Performance in Ontario!http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/appl.gifhttp://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/appl.gif Great job, great service, and sorry you busted your forehead on my truck, but guys... you need a T.V. up in there! Did it in about an hour from start to finish. I wont post the dyno numbers since they were lower than my bank account balance! But there were HP and TQ gains which surprised me considering the meats that needed turning.

Bitter sweet day.

I got my exhaust, lowered EGT's, picked up some HP & TQ but............................................... .................................................. .............................. GOT FLUTTER!! http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/flame.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/flame.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/flame.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/flame.gif

All the way home I thought I was being tailgated by a 1960's Volkswagen! J&D are working with me to try and solve the problem which I totally appreciate since its really not their problem, that is totally an aftermarket exhaust problem. Maybe they can start me up a TAB. http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/crazy.gif Anyways, another big thanks, you guys have earned my business. http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/burnout.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/burnout.gif

Back to the drawing board on the flutter problem. http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/banghead.gif

I have the magnaflow muffler on my 7.3 powerstroke.
Solved the flutter problem I had with the dppi.
Most stock 7.3's with dppi exhaust flutter a bit.
Modified, they don't...strange, but true.

I guess my warranty is voided too! lol (at least on my 2000) http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/wink.gif

Thats funny, I just took off my magnaflow muffler(only) to replace it with the DDPI complete exhaust. Maybe I should put my Magnaflow muffler on with the DPPI? How does yours sound with the magnaflow on the DPPI? Did you weld it or clampit on?

Bobby I hope your kidding?!

I think it's great.
The diesel mufflers are generic sizes, so there's usually one to fit. I think the one that DPPI uses is 30" long with a 24" "muffler" section. I got the magnaflow one the same size for about $100. I used those band clamps from NAPA. They seal so good and don't crimp the pipe like the u-bolt clamps.
The rear clamp on the muffler has both (because the T-hanger is the clamp). I just don't tighten the poop out of that one.

Well, kinda sorta. Most dealerships won't hassle you with exhaust upgrades but technically speaking if you do turbo back they can give you a hard time about it.

Nothing to really worry about, just wanted to mess with ya http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/usa.gif

So Bobby are you saying I shouldn't put exhaust on my 189k truck because I may void the warranty?

Bobby, I assume changing the Turbo housing an wheel will void the entire warranty? Dont care if it voids just the turbo warranty but dont wanna lose the rest of my warranty.

PIT,

I honestly don't know for sure, but I assume that it will only void the turbo warranty. But then again, if you put oversized tires on and burn up a trans they will not honor the warranty due to extra stress on the trans http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/confused.gif http://www.socaps.comimages/graemlins/confused.gif

Bottom line it really comes down to the dealer and TECH !!
