Thread: Fuel System Leak on start up

While on a fishing trip this week I had fuel leak on initial start up. The leak was just forward of the air conditioner condensation on the right side frame rail. I smelled raw fuel and observed a puddle forming at the location. However after driving the truck to a local dealer to check it out no leak in the system could be found. The dealer had no explanation as to why the fuel was purged from the system. Has anyone else encountered this type of fuel leak?

Mine leaks from time to time out of the fuel drain for no reason

I just consider it an auto drain system that no one else has

Exactly what I thought. I think International put a auto drain in the system for when fuel pump over presurizes the system. The dealer said the systems working pressure is 35 to 40 psi.

My fuel system runs at 75 psi

Thats why my auto drain works real good
