Thread: Need a Cat, Help me

So I finally got the lovely notice that I need to smog my truck. I have already returned it to the stock tune and removed any trace of a programmer, Had an Edge. But I when I went down to a muffler shop to get cat installed I was informed that I am looking at around $1500, oh and we can't sell it to you, you need to go to the Dealer, hence the WTF? So does anyone have a used Cat that they want to get rid of for fairly cheap. Doind some research even the online guys can't ship to California and I really can not afford to have to spend $1500 for a new one. I bought the truck used a few years ago and the original owner had already removed the damn thing.

Any help would be great.

Yeah I am getting the sense I am pretty much screwed.

Keep an eye on craigslist. they come up every couple weeks for a couple hundred bucks. Had to get one for a friends truck.
