broken truck comes back to life

    Long story.
My wife took my truck to Vegas last weekend, on the way home she stopped for fuel in Baker. At Barstow the cruise control shuts off, the truck starts to shutter and slow down no matter how much go pedal is applied, ended up coming home on a tow truck. First thought is cps is bad, but the cps only has about 12k on it. When the truck makes it home I fire it up and it idles bad and wont tach past 1200 r's, its late and cold so I leave it till mourning. Next day the truck wont fire due to dead batteries, due to the holidays I left it till today. I picked up a couple of costco batteries and dropped them in, truck fires but idles bad and wont tach past 1200 r's. I left the truck running while I cleaned up (about 15 min) jumped back in and the idle seemed better and when revved it tached to 2k??? Took it for a drive and the more I drove it the better it ran, now its pretty much back to normal. My buddy is a matco dealer so we hooked up the scanner and it didnt kick out any codes. Has anyone ever had bad batteries that caused their vehicle to run bad? Other than bad fuel or bad batteries I cant figure this one out.
I'll put some more miles on to see how it runs this week.

One of the people I talked to about my shifting problem told me one bad battery can really mess with your sensors.
