You may want to talk to John Wood, weweld (Gene) and browse the forums here. I have a very limited knowledge base on this stuff but you might find it may be cheaper and a lot less trouble just to get a dualie. Good luck and plese post pictues if you end up converting your truck. I am sure other people would like to see those pictures.

The e450 might be a differnent width and bolt pattern. IIRC the e series still run the 8 on 6.5 pattern. So i would check into that. I doubt it will be very difficult to swap. Bed, rear axle, and front dually spacers and your swapped.

There is another alternative. I put an Arrowcraft kit on mine. It comes with fenders, wheels, rear & frt adaptors. Painted the fenders, bought stainless wheel covers & tires and here it is. I found a used kit on CL and got it for a grand. Paint, tires and some work. And I was able to keep my 3.73 gears. It always pulled my 5er just fine so this has worked for me May not be for everyone but I'm happy with it. It was a lot cheaper than trading trucks. Most duallys have been worked and I could not find a really nice one at a reasonable price. That is why I went this route.
