    Question Glow Plug Relays

    I am getting ready to replace my GPR and found the following two:

    PureDieselPower.com = $65
    Nitrogen filled w/improved contacts to protect burn out

    AccurateDiesel.com = $34.95
    Improved design for longer life

    Does anyone have any take on these two sites, and why the vast price difference in price?

    if you have the glow plug relay and not the control module, i believe stancor makes a heavy duty version that is highly recommended by alot of people.

    Hey guys, I just purchased the Stancor 802-586-902 for my 99 F350. I thought I heard someone make a statement on how to adapt the new one which has a side mount bracket. The OEM relay has a bracket with wires attached to the right side and was wondering how to adapt it to the new relay? It failed the "new California" smog test for codes 1391 & 1393 and I was going to start with the relay vs the $500 to install the kit of glow plugs, harness, etc. Even though I have pd my tags, I am currently a vialator, driving with any????

    There's a good write up on Guzzle's site:

    Welcome to guzzle's Stancor GPR replacement Mod Web Page

    Lots of other good info there too.

    My 99 F350 power stroke failed smog as I state due to codes 1391 & 1393. I originally sent for the Stancor, however, I returned it for a refund due to it's size and the mounting bracket was for the horizonal mount and with the shunt that is on mine I just decided it would take too much manuvering and just not enough space. I called Guzzle's and spoke with him and asked about the shunt and he made the Stancor installation but his year does not require the shunt. I purchased the one from Accurate Diesel and had it installed in about 30 minutes and it passed our great California Smog with flying colors. Which ever you choose, it's a piece of cake to install.
