    Can i replace my E40D with a 4r100??

    i have a 97 f250 auto trans 2wd.... i found a ATS trans 4r100 and wondering if it will work ??

    You buying that trans off I nick per chance? Edit: his was 4x4. And it takes a lot more work to convert 4x<->2x
    Yes a 4r100 will work but you need to swap out the solenoid pack as the torque converter controls are pwm and the e4od is on/off. There is something about a restrictive orifice needed somewhere too. I'd have to search that. Other than that there's two sensors on the top that are just ignored and used as plugs.
